Carbon Poker is an exciting and newer online poker room with a solid player base that is steadily growing. Carbon Poker offers great promotions for their new players and regulars, they have great software that is very user friendly. Carbon Poker is constantly adding new and exciting features for their players. They have a great comp point rewards system for their regular players. You can spend your comp rewards in their comp points store which is being updated regulary and will in the very near future have even more great products to offer.
Carbon Poker is platformed on the Merge Gaming network, a network that is shared with quite a few other online poker rooms. They welcome U.S. poker players, which has been to their advantage, enabling them to increase their online poker player base at a consistant steady pace.
CASH PLAYER TRAFFIC
The average amount of Cash Game players playing on Carbon Poker at one time usually tops out around the mid 500's. Although this number does fluctuate, it is pretty common to be able to get into a juicy game at any level from NL .05-.10 to NL $3-$6. The Cash Game traffic volume at Carbon Poker is definately lower than some of the bigger sites but one of the things they have going for them is that there are many less experienced players who seem to lean towards the looser side.

I am trying not to be biased with this review because Carbon Poker happens to be my favorite poker site to play on. Mainly because of the looseness of the players. I play a semi-loose aggressive style most of the time and the players at Carbon Poker accomodate my playing style by giving me all the action I can get.
If you like to play in cash games that are not always filled with TAG players, other wise known as Tight Aggressive, then Carbon Poker is the poker room for you. Its very possible to take a $50.00 buy in and play in the .10-.25 NL Shorthanded Ring Games and run your initial $50.00 buy-in up to several hundred dollars. The NL Full Ring Games are also very profitable.

TOURNAMENT TRAFFIC- Tournaments
- Scheduled - these are tournaments scheduled by Carbon Poker to start at a specific time. Carbon Poker Freerolls can be found under the scheduled tab.
- Sit & Go - These are tournaments that will only start once the required number of players has been reached. Registered Sit & Go tournaments are usually single table tournaments.
- Satellites - These are tournaments that 'feed' winners into bigger tournaments. Satellites are held in various stages leading up to a large tournament such as a WPT, WSOP or Carbon Poker special event.
- Free Rolls
- $50,000 Freeroll - On the last Sunday of every month at 15:00, Carbon Poker will run a $50,000 Freeroll that is open to all players who earn 5000 comp points in the current month. This tournament does not require a coupon for entry.
- $10,000 Freeroll - Every Sunday at 15:00 (except the last Sunday of every month), Carbon Poker holds a $10,000 freeroll for players that have earned at least 2500 comp points in the previous 168 hours prior to the tournament start time. This tournament does not require a coupon for entry.

ROOM FEATURES
- Hand History
Carbon Poker has a built in Hand History graphics interface that allows you to walk through the hand street by street and see how any previous hand was played.
The biggest down fall to Carbon Poker in my opinion is the lack of support for exporting Hand Histories in a easy to read format. You can have your Hand Histories saved which will put them in a file on your PC but they are stored in XML format which happens to be a very tricky format to review your hand histories.
Most Poker Analysis software is NOT compatable with this type of hand history format, so you may have to improvise if you are going to try and use your hand histories in some type of player data-base program.

Stats Functions
In the Stats Functions tabs you are able to take notes on your opponents and also view information on how many hands you have been dealt, hands you have won, and your comp point earned.
If you would like to look at more detailed stats you can also look at your Action Stats, which include your Fold, Check, Call, Bet, Raise, Re-Raise, Check-Raise and complete percentages.
You can also look at your "Fold" Pre-Flop, Flop, Turn, River and No Fold percentages. They even include the ability to look at your "Win" Pre-Flop, Flop, Turn, River, Showdown, and Seen Flops Won percentages.
Time Bank
Carbon Poker's newest version includes several new features including a time bank. The time bank allows you the extra time needed to make those hard decisions that come up every so often in poker.
This is a great feature to have while playing online poker in such a fast paced enviroment.
- Deal It Twice
If you have ever watched "High Stakes Poker" on T.V. you have seen the pro players "Deal It Twice" many times. When playing poker, especially No Limit Hold'em the varience (the high and low swings of your bankroll) is very high, this is a great feature to lower your varience in case of an ALL-IN situation.
- Rabbit Hunt
While playing poker if you have won a hand many times other players are left wondering would they have won if they had stayed in the hand with you.
This is where Rabbit Hunting comes into play. You can as the winner of the hand opt to Rabbit Hunt, which will display all the cards that would have hit the flop if the other player had actually stayed in the hand.
This can be used to show your opponents a bluff you pulled off or that they actually made the right move by folding to you. This feature can be very useful in applying psychology to your poker game.
- Expose One Card
This is a great option to use if you happen to have laid down your hand to a big bet by your opponent or if no one called your bet. This can be used as a psychological play to manipulate and influence the others play in the game.
- Multiple Windows
The Multiple Windows feature is great for players who like to multi-table up to four tables at once. You basically have a bulit in grid with 4 tables aligned perfectly for your screen.
You can also have a new window open up for every poker table that can be stacked in a row. You can choose to select the option which will bring your active game to the front when it is your turn to act or just choose to play by watching for your active table to be highlighted when it's your turn.
- Player Tags
If while you are playing you would like to TAG a player with a specific trait you can choose from Carbon Pokers own player TAGS or opt to use your own custom TAG. Another added feature is that you are able to TAG a player while scrolling through the lobby by just clicking on the Add button in the the lobby. Then enter the players nickname and select a tag.
- Smilies
As you already know table talk is a major part of the game of poker. Playing online really takes out the personal and social part of the game.
Most poker sites have a text box that you can communicate with others from but not only does Carbon Poker have a text box, they also have animated smilies that appear on the poker screen as you type certain words into the text chat box.
While there are many smilies that are used on Carbon Poker that are well known and used such as the Donkey who is animated kicking his feet. Or the ever popular Shark which swims into the scene and eats a small fish. There are also many that are yet to be found and some that are rarely used and many that are actually being developed. My favorite happens to be the Tilting smilie, who's face turns beet red and then his head explodes. LOL!
- Vector Graphics
This is a nice added feature for those who play long hours online. As you may know playing online for extented periods of time staring at a computer screen can cause things to get a little blurry at times. With Vector Graphics no matter what size you make your window you get clear, crisp graphics that are not pixelated.
- Bad Beat Jackpot
Ever lost a hand that you were positive you should have where you were beat by a miracle card on the river?
Well if that happens to you on Carbon Poker with your hand of four of a kind with at least 7's getting beat or better, you win 35% of the Bad Beat Jackpot.
